Why do you think people desire so strongly to feed people so well on high holy days and holidays?
I have no idea.
This, however, is what I’d like you to feed people tomorrow. Or today. Or anytime you need to impress a crowd.
It’s called…..
The 4th of July Menu.
Great intro, huh?
I thought long and hard about it.
Here’s what I’d suggest for a big fun summery family meal!
Its thematic. It’s got colors involved. It’s good. You’ll love it. Click on the links for the original recipes!
For the red, let’s marinate some onions for a quick pickle and cut up TONS of tomatoes and fresh herbs. AND, you could add some watermelon if you’re feeling crazy!

For the white, make some dang pasta salad. It’s so easy and fresh-tasting!

Definitely grill some dang meat, but what you grill is up to you. I’d recommend making a ton of your own blackening seasoning, then sprinkling it on anything that you’d like to grill!

Not many foods are blue, but some blue cheese dip with chips, veggies, and bread would be super DUPER delicious.

Finally, because it’s a holiday, and you gotta feed the masses, make at least one thing that you can do waaayyyyy in advance and serve hot, at warm temperature, or however the proverbial cookie crumbles. Green bean casserole would be my choice for that type of side dish, but you could do anything!

Like cheese grits…..
Note that you may want to skip the grits in that particular post – up to you, though!

Or twice baked potatoes…..

Or roasted garlic mashed potatoes……

Or warm roasted broccoli salad…….

This could go on for awhile.
My point is, have a wonderful holiday, eat lots, drink lots, and tell people that you love them.
Happy day-before-the-4th!
