Crab Cake Salad

October 17, 2012 by funnyloveblog 2 Comments

Remember when we made those super duper delicious crab cakes, and I promised that there was something yummier to do with it than just drown it in tartar sauce?

Well, that’s subjective, I guess.

Anyway.

You can put it on top of a salad.

I’m SO creative.

I embarrass myself.

No, but seriously.  I put this on top of greens with chopped veggies and crumbled blue cheese with this vinaigrette, and YES. It was dang good.

The blue cheese crumbles were the knight in shining armor, if there was even a need for one.  Together with the sesame crust on the crab cake well…YES.

That’s all.

Sorry to be boring, but you really needed to see the crab cakes in both forms.

Make any green salad you’d like, but capers, blue cheese, and red bell peppers went particularly well with the flavor of the crab cake.  Anything else you add is up to you!

Click here for the original post and recipe, and let me know what your favorite make-a-salad-into-a-meal addition is!

This looks delicious! thanks for sharing! I’d add quinoa and some stir-fried veggies to turn a salad into a meal!

    🙂

Definitely – any whole grain would be a nice addition if you’re craving some carbs! I love cold grains in salads, too.
