Guys after working all this week and Saturday SUNDAY IS THE SUPER BOWL!
Sporting events are only really fun if they revolve heavily around food. Doncha think?
This week is just….ugh. My weeks are like that recently – Monday and Tuesday are pretty productive and hopeful, and then by the second half of the week I’m flying though life with too much to do and not enough time or help and just GRUMPY.
So we need to turn this frown upside down in the shape of appetizers, right?
The Google tells me that you and I search for things really specifically – not super bowl appetizers, but vegetarian super bowl appetizers, super bowl appetizers with pork, that kind of thing. I’ve got one ALL NEW super fast and incredibly delicious appetizer to share with you tomorrow but, in the meantime, here are some appetizers that might fit your needs on Sunday (click the picture for the link):
If you’re vegetarian….Blue Cheese Pull Apart Bread
If you need something meaty…..Bacon Blue Cheese Meatballs
I make these ALL. THE. TIME. Wanna know why? Because they get RAVE reviews every single time I make them, and usually are followed up with an order for a batch or request for the recipe. Never lets me down. I also love that you can make these a day or two in advance and heat them up on the day you’d like to serve them.
If you’re making dinner instead of apps…Chili
If non-dips are your jam….Bacon Brie Biscuit Bites
Or also if you like alliteration? Whatevs. These are delicious hot, warm, cold, the next day, WHATEVER. Go for it. Embrace the canned biscuits.
If vegan speaks to you….definitely make refried bean hummus
This is a relatively new one, and the flavor from the roasted vegetables in this is to DIE for. No one will guess this is relatively healthy.
If Buffalo is a must….Buffalo Shrimp Dip!
Wings are great and all, but this baked shrimp with crazy tangy sauce and not much butter is SO delicious and simple. Soeone else’ll bring wings anyway.
If you’re in a rush….Cream Cheese with Pepper Jelly
When we were shopping for groceries in Hawaii our friend Scott requested this as an appetizer one night. In January. In Kauaii. My point is this: this is a very delicious appetizer, takes 4 minutes to make (skip the chilling of the cream cheese, no biggie), and EVERYONE LOVES IT. Also, the ingredients are cheap!
If you need to show off…homemade ricotta
I mean, REALLY. So creamy and decadent yet EASY to make. You’re gonna want to get in on this asap.
So there we have it! An appetizer no matter what specifics you’re trying to meet.
But really, come back tomorrow. Teriyaki Beef Sliders PEOPLE. Seriously. In under 25 minutes.
