Happy 2/13! We’re still snowed in and doing the thing where we have tons to do but aren’t working as fast as we should and OF COURSE drank all the wine last night and now feel moderately awful.
But the snow is pretty?
Tomorrow is Valentine’s day, in case you haven’t heard. It’s also the day that Jay and I celebrate our anniversary. 3 years, homie.
Since ever celebration, mourning, or ANYTHINGINBETWEEN revolves around food in this world we’re making for ourselves, here are some suggestions for what you might make for Valentine’s Day, or just a snow day if you’re cooped up and bored!
Steak with blue cheese sauce. I made this a few years ago for a Valentine’s post, and it’s been one of our most popular meal suggestions. It’s easy, classic, and delicious. What’s not to like? Nothing is the answer.
Lovebirds! This was last year’s V-day offering, and to this day remains one of my favorite food photographs. These are super easy but feature an orange reduction that’s just SEXY, y’all.
Fudge! You don’t have to make dinner, but you could totes make dessert! I found this recipe on the google around Christmas time and have made it a TON. Successful every time and super easy! Actually….might make some today. Don’t judge.
Penne with vodka sauce. I made this last night for our neighbors, and it was TOTALLY THEIR FAULT that we drank all the wine and now feel poopy. No personal responsibility whatsoever. This dish is great because it’s vegetarian OR you can add meat in the form of grilled chicken over top, crumbled browned sausage mixed in, or any other protein you can think of! I make this over and over again and can never get over how much I like it.
I’m supposed to drive to Florida tomorrow, which means that my Valentine and I will just have to celebrate this lovahhh’s holiday another time.
Got any fun plans for the holiday with loved ones? Or hated ones? Tell me.
