Thursday. Finally. Great news! It’s 9:35am where I sit and I’ve been up for five and a half hours. I slept for about that many. I haven’t had any food but I did take a vitamin so it’s safe to assume that I’m famished and also tired and also when I get famished I don’t want vegetables just ALL THE FRIED.
Leave me alone.
So, to enhance the already-ravenous part of me, I’m sharing with you today some recent favs of YOURS and MINE here on this website. These are things that I love making for folks and that it looks like you’re reading how to make too! Looking at all these food pictures is making my hunger just go right away!
I posted this last week on Facebook, but, I mean, really. I get why we love it so much. It’s an effing quesadilla topped with pizza stuff. It’s endlessly customizeable, and if you have 1 large skillet 1 of these easily serves 3-4 with a side salad so….ONE SKILLET DINNER! Pizzadilla. Do it.
Up next, fakeout fried fish. It’s only crusted on the top, but there’s a really sexy tartar sauce to go along with it, and the flavor is ridiculous. White flaky fish is my favorite here, but you could even use the method with mahi or tuna if you’re a big-fish person.
Since we’re working towards the weekend, this braised pork is one of my absolute favorites. I love it because you can start it early in the day and basically have everything but one pot cleaned up and be wine-in-hand by the time it’s time to eat – especially great for having people over, and if you’re not into pork feel free to use chicken or even beef!
Back to seafood, y’all are obsessed with spicy crab salad, as am I. It’s delicious, super simple, and makes you feel like you are in a sushi restaurant but for CHEAP. I love this for a quick lunch over leftover rice with some raw veggies and soy sauce.
Finally, here’s a three-for-one: you people LOVE buffalo. I’m with you, which is probably why we have so many buffalo-falvored things here! Three of them came in at the top of my list (and are what you’re reading the most), so here they are, in no particular order: hot buffalo shrimp dip, cold buffalo chicken salad, and buffalo chicken burgers. I kind of want all three of these right now.
So, here are some of our current favorites, and I’d LOVE some links of fun new things to make if you’ve got any suggestions! Also, turns out my theory was right! I’m no longer hungry AT ALL looking at all of this food. Not one bit!
