And yesterday we celebrated! Her birthday, my sister Olivia’s birthday, and my grandmother’s birthday are all within a few weeks of each other, so we had a great big old family celebration with lots of stellar food and wine and giggles.
My mom is just the best ever, and probably the best mom in the world. I’m sorry if that makes you jealous. She’s a writer so has always worked for herself, and raised the four of us ingrates with minimal weeping and gnashing of teeth, which is a huge feat if you know us. As I’ve gotten older, she’s shifted into the role of my bestie, and I adore spending time with her. Also, now that we are grown the damage has been done, she swears more often which is really hilarious because she’s a tiny generally well behaved human. More than anything, she’s incredibly loving and gentle and takes such good care of our family.
I love you, mama! Go eat a cheeseburger. And now, in conclusion, a picture of us talking about my underage cousins drinking at my wedding (we didn’t care) but really I like to pretend that this was some kind of terrifying birds and the bees talk.
