Two Reasons Why It’s So Hard To Solve A Redneck Murder:
1. The DNA all matches.
2. There are no dental records.
My old comedy buddy and dear friend Rory Scovel kicked off his “Dilated Imagination Tour” this week at the Coffee Underground in Greenville, South Carolina and Lindsay and I went to go see him with my BFF Adam and his lady friend Cara. We had an absolute blast. Rory’s feature act is Derek Sheen whom I met while living in Seattle. He’s also very funny. They’re going to be burning up cities and towns all throughout the Southeast this month and I highly recommend you invest in going to see them live. What could be better than sitting in a dark room, drinking booze, and laughing with a bunch of strangers? I know it doesn’t sound too promising but it is.
Lindsay, Adam, Cara and I met up with Rory and Derek before the show to have some drinks and dinner at the small Dutch restaurant and bar “Addy’s.” I really enjoy that bar, minus the fact that they make you take your hat off. I have never not enjoyed a beer or food because of what someone was wearing on their head…but I digress. I sipped on some Grolsh and Lindsay had a VERY expensive Kasteel (I’m not a cheap-ass, though Lindsay would disagree, but I don’t know how 12 ounces of beer should cost $9. I’ve had it else where for way less money).
Having hung my microphone up for a more “normal” life I still LOVE getting to be around comedians. We had a fun night of abstract, silly and absurd conversations. Nothing is ever off limits and it’s impossible to offend them. If it wasn’t for the 9 beers I drank, I could probably retell some of the stories we shared, but I don’t remember much. All I know is that I’m really proud of my friend. I remember making big plans with him about stand-up comedy years ago and it warms my heart to know that one of us is making them come to fruition. If I was still reaching for that spotlight I might be jealous of Rory’s success, but I’m so happy to be sitting on the sidelines and cheering for his continued success. He truly deserves it. Check this out to see all the tour dates and location and GO SEE RORY!
Sick of the cold already? Me too. I was actually already sick of the cold a few weeks ago, so when we celebrated my mom’s 30th birthday we thought it would be fun to have fun, light food instead of something heavy that reminded us that winter’s coming fast!
These fish tacos were perfect for that!
This, my friends, is what we’ve been leading up to all week. And, WHAT better main dish to combine with all our healthy sides than lean, flavorful protein with BEER SAUCE? Beer Sauce! They are so easy to make and you can top them however you like!
There are a few things you should know about me:

- Jay is always my subject.
- I don’t give him topics, he comes up with issues on his own.
- Jay recently watched an episode of Rachael Ray with me, featuring Buddy Velastro as a guest.
- Jay has a super duper funny Cake Boss voice.
We met at our step aerobics class. She only had 80 more pounds to lose, and I fell head over heels in love.sI’m so depressed, it was the most in love I’ve ever been in my whole life. It was the best two weeks of my life.sWe loved to take long walks together….well, long for her, she had a prosthetic leg.sShe was amazing…4’7″, just a BUNDLE of energy and joy.sI don’t see what I did wrong – at the beginning she loved cooking with me! I don’t see what’s so wrong about wanting to create 4 or 5 cakes a day.sShe said I should be able to control accidentally slipping into a Cake Boss character all the time. I can’t help it! He’s just so inspiring.sShe said that there was something unnatural about a man who loved another man who bakes all day. After that, I told her to hit the road.
