Happy New Year! We came home at 11:30 like grannies and were asleep an hour later. It was basically the best night ever.

I love this report that WordPress does every year! It’s so fun. Read it. Like it. Then go click refresh 9,387 times so I can make this blog my full time job. Please and thank you.

Here’s what we’re working with:

19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 63,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

How was your weekend?

Are you as sleepy as I am?

I’m totally sleepy. I need a vacation from my vacay.

Which means, we need an easy dinner for tonight, doncha think?

This lemon pasta is easy, but OH so flavorful. It’s perfect for the end of the summer, so bright and light and comforting all at the same time. It requires very few ingredients AND is vegetarian, too, so you MUST try this one asap.

Happy Labor Day!

Not Memorial Day, like I said on Friday. I’m a moron.

We’re coming back from the mountains today, but we’re taking our sweet dang time and stopping at fun restaurants, lookouts, and markets along the way.

We’re also planning our next trip! We love to travel, and we’ve done more international than local travel, so we’re trying to see more things near us!

Hurray for Tuesday!

I am having a nice day because I woke up to do yoga like a big girl, made my lunch and Jay’s, was on time to work, and got to laugh at Jay because he was hungover after not drinking very much last night.

Because he’s old.

In all fairness, he was out late drinking to celebrate the memory of a friend’s mother who is being buried this morning, so there was a reason for the hangover – not “I’m a dude, it’s Monday, let’s go for it.” The guys spent the evening sharing growing up stories, remembering how great John’s mom was, and generally enjoying a reason (though a devastating one) to all be back together after years of being grown-ups and not keeping in touch because life got in the way.

Pesky life.

What I mean is, sometimes don’t you want to just grill some bread with butter and cheese and tuna and EAT IT FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME?

I do!
