Two years ago my family got me a subscription to Food Network Magazine.
I love it.
I have literally cancelled all other publications that I used to subscribe to, but I’ll NEVER let this one go.
I can’t let it go.
I promised you the best cake in the world, and here it is!
My mom, and now me, have been making this for years and years – I think the recipe originally came from my dad’s mother.
It’s delicious, and not nearly as unhealthy as it tastes!
It’s mine today. I’m 26. Jay asked me if I feel different than yesterday, and I don’t.
Look, I know you’re not all in relationships, or you have kids and believe that you have to be young and childless to celebrate Valentine’s Day, or whatever other excuse you have for hating this particular holiday.
I, however, think it’s a great time to celebrate anyone you love, and I celebrate people I love with food.
I also celebrate weekends, Mondays, deaths, births, raises, housecleaning, and adult acne with food.
But, I’m weird like that.
I’m sure you’ve already done your shopping and wrapping and planning for this weekend, but….just in case you haven’t….I think this is a sweet gift idea!
This cheesecake recipe came from my friend Ginger, and I make it multiple times per year! I made it for Jay’s birthday at Thanksgiving this year and it was a hit!
To hold it’s shape, cheesecake should be made in a springform pan – you can buy them anywhere for not much money, so don’t freak out. Why not buy a pan, make a cheesecake, and give the cake and the pan as a gift with the recipe attached?
I say go for it.
