NYC Weekend

April 24, 2018 by funnyloveblog 2 Comments

We are home, we are somewhat recovered, the laundry is still out of control.

But, another great New York trip is in the books, and I can’t wait for the next one. Last year I was lucky to get to the city twice for work, and this year I’m super duper hoping to do the same thing. We had a great time, as we always do. I go for the final event of the a cappella tournament I work with, a sold out show at Beacon Theater that is magical, inspiring, and hugely entertaining.

This year was super DUPER special because my youngest sister Julianne lives in Brooklyn now, so we got to spend tons of special time with her. I used my “work” time to reconnect with my coworkers who live all over the world, and in between seeing friends, doing the show, and sitting in cabs in traffic we managed to see some great stuff, eat some fabulous things, and generally enjoy feeling the city all around us. I adore big cities, and am so glad I get to spend lots of time in New York.

This year was one of the stranger trips we’ve had.  Beck was with us, which was strange but great, of course, and we had a GREAT time on Friday.  But then on Saturday (the day I work on the show and Jay is usually on his own) or dog got super sick and we honestly didn’t know if he was going to make it, so we spent most of the day worrying about him and changing our flights so we could get home earlier just in case.  And….that was kind of it!

But let’s talk about Friday, because that was a very wonderful day.

A Weekend in NYC (Part 2: Friday Night-Sunday)

April 21, 2015 by funnyloveblog Leave a Comment

So.  Onto the second part of our NYC trip!  20150416_191209-01

After our epic trek on Friday morning/afternoon, we met our friend Dan who is from Greenville but lives in Hoboken.  We met him in the city for “a” (three) drink(s), then headed on the bus to Hoboken to see his wife and two gorgeous girls.  We LOVE these guys, and try to see them every year when we’re in NYC and a few more times when they come to Greenville.  We want to be just like them when we grow up even though they’re kind of the same age.
