Hello from weather that practically feels like fall in South Carolina!
…We’re back from the city!
And we came back to a crazy week, firestorm at work (not the word I wanted to use), house showings out the wazoo but no offers, Jay gone for work all week, and just life, which isn’t always a bad thing I suppose. …
HI FROM VACATION. I’m currently on a porch surrounded by used beach/lake towels drying from last night patiently waiting their turn to be useful today, eating a biscuit with cheese + bacon + sausage + very sweet coffee because I’m pregnant and the baby needs it. Beck is miraculously not whining about anything yet and it’s under 75 degrees still and we’re trying so hard to soak it all in before we head home for second-half-of-pregnancy-hurry-and-work-slash-get-everything-ready kicks in.
This is a real phase of pregnancy.
But speaking of sausage. Vacation food! I adore cooking and eating (duh) on vacation; it’s such a fun time to make large batches of favorites and gather around for snacks and larger meals. We almost always do houses these day for trips because it’s so much easier with small children, which leaves three meals a day to plan for. …
We are home, we are somewhat recovered, the laundry is still out of control.
But, another great New York trip is in the books, and I can’t wait for the next one. Last year I was lucky to get to the city twice for work, and this year I’m super duper hoping to do the same thing. We had a great time, as we always do. I go for the final event of the a cappella tournament I work with, a sold out show at Beacon Theater that is magical, inspiring, and hugely entertaining.
This year was super DUPER special because my youngest sister Julianne lives in Brooklyn now, so we got to spend tons of special time with her. I used my “work” time to reconnect with my coworkers who live all over the world, and in between seeing friends, doing the show, and sitting in cabs in traffic we managed to see some great stuff, eat some fabulous things, and generally enjoy feeling the city all around us. I adore big cities, and am so glad I get to spend lots of time in New York.
