I worked a little bit. Not as much as I should have, but I’ll make up for it in 2017, maybe.
This is a nice recipe, kids. It’s super easy and can be made well ahead of time, and sometimes fruit is a nice addition to super duper fattening snack foods that are all around us time time of year.
I wanted you to have this before next week in case you were hosting any more parties and needed a sweet offering that wasn’t a total calorie bomb. Maybe…NEW YEARS BRUNCH? No one says you have to stop having fun just because it’s January!

Here’s what you need for this fun platter:
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 4 oz plain yogurt (Greek is great, but don’t kill yourself trying to find it)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar, plus more to taste
- fruit, for dipping and serving
Super easy! For the dip, ugh….mix everything but the fruit together.
Sorry, that’s dumb. It’s easy, though! I found that the cream cheese didn’t immediately incorporate, so I put the dip into the microwave for 20 seconds at a time to heat the yogurt, which helped melt the cheese. No worries if your dip isn’t perfectly smooth, though, it will still be delicious!
After you’ve mixed the dip, taste it and add more powdered sugar if you like. The yogurt flavor is nice and prominent, so if you like your dips a bit sweeter you’ll want to add more sugar 1 teaspoon at a time, mixing and tasting in between each addition, until the dip tastes good to you.
Now, this dip can be made ahead up to 4 days and stored in the fridge. If you’re transporting it, you can travel like this: just arrange the fruit you’re using and the dip in small bowls on a platter, then cover the bowls AND the platter separately with plastic wrap. It’ll transport well and you just have to unwrap it when you arrive at your destination!
This is lovely, easy, and so nice and fresh. The dip is fun to have around for snacks and desserts, too. Enjoy!
