Lemon Rosemary Steak

May 23, 2013 by funnyloveblog 2 Comments

I made us steak!

I made this last week and it took 30 minutes, maybe less, and the flavors were incredible and we were celebrating ONE YEAR IN OUR HOUSE so it seemed like a good night for steak. Serve steak sliced with arugula

Got any nights coming up that might mandate steak?

This is the recipe to try, if so.  Even if that night coming up is, say, Thursday night.

Where’s the Beef?

May 22, 2013 by funnyloveblog 1 Comment

Guys something happened.

I got featured on what some might call an, ahem, conservative publication.

Portobella Burger

I had about a 3 second hesitation, and then realized “oh, they eat too.”

Duh.  Weird how we get so caught up in “our” favorite news/entertainment outlets, isn’t it?

Cheeseburger Quinoa

April 11, 2013 by funnyloveblog 4 Comments

Yep.

I know.

I’m baffled too.

Two small bowls of quinoa

So what happened was this.  I spent the whole weekend (like, 15 hours) in my yoga glass, then we studied ayurvedic constitutions for 3 of those hours and ate all this fun vegetarian food that was totally delicious, then I wanted to grill out but not eat meat, but I wanted to eat bacon.

SO.  We grilled out.  And as a side dish I made this, which could really be a meal, because it has veggies and carbs and protein.  It’s quinoa stuffed with bacon cheeseburger ingredients minus the beef.  It was AWESOME.  Really yummy and satisfying but obviously so much healthier than a burger.

Bacon-Wrapped + Cream Cheese-Filled Jalapeno Bites

April 5, 2013 by funnyloveblog 3 Comments

OMG finally Friday.

You know what’s dumb?

Today is Jay’s last day of work.  He’s taking a new job, and to celebrate I’m taking Monday/Tuesday off and we’re having a staycation in which I’ll cook a lot and make him do yard work.

Grill until crispy

It’ll be great.  For me.  The problem with that is that, in order to take said staycation, I’ve been SLAMMED this week trying to get ready to miss Monday and Tuesday.  It’s like….now I HAVE to take time off to make up for the insanity that I created trying to take time off?

That makes no sense at all.

You know what does make sense, though?  These little babies.  They’re SUPER simple, and epically delicious.  Do you need to know any more than that?  Nope, you don’t.

Mixed Grill with Green Rice

February 15, 2013 by funnyloveblog Leave a Comment

Tuna ready to grillI didn’t know what to call this.

If I liked long post titles, I would have called this Mexican-style Grilled Tuna, Tofu, Chicken, and Veggies with Green Cilantro Rice, Tons of Taco Toppings, and The Sauce I make for Fish Tacos.

But that seemed kind of long, so I didn’t do that.

Anyway, this meal is one that I made last weekend for my pretty sister Emily’s birthday.  Our family doesn’t really do restaurants on birthdays – there are a gazillion of us and we like to cook, so that’s what we do!

It involved champagne at 11:30am, which is never a bad thing.
